Create a homework schedule

Create a homework schedule with your child to help them manage their time when they get home from school.

Tips for making a homework schedule:

  • Make sure your child takes a break when they get home from school - allow them to relax and have a snack.
  • Be mindful of any after school activities that your child participates in and factor that time around how much time they have to do homework.
  • Remember, there will always be ILA and Math homework every night and most nights there will be Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language homework.

Example of a homework schedule:

3:10 - get home from school and take a break

3:30 - start homework

3:30-4:00 - ILA homework

4:00-4:30 - Math homework

4:30-4:45 - Science homework

4:45-5:00 - Social Studies homework

5:00-5:15 - Foreign Language homework

* Reminders*

This is just an example, actual times it may take your child to complete a certain subject area's homework will vary.

Also, remind your child that if you do not have homework in a given subject, you move onto the next subject and not wait for that time to come.
